Radix Ledebouriellae, Ledebouriella seseloides. The herb is pungent and sweet in flavour, slightly warm in nature and acts on the urinary bladder, liver and spleen channels. Slightly warm, not dry, sweet, mild and not drastic in effect, and pungent for dispersing wind, it is often used to treat pathogenic wind, wind-cold, wind-heat, wind-dampness, tetanus and other syndromes affected by exopathogens. For Expelling pathogenic wind, relieving pain and spasm, common cold, headache and heaviness of the body and with peppermint and other diaphoretics pungent in flavour and cool in nature, to treat wind-heat type of common cold. Dispels wind-damp and alleviates pain; antispasmodic. Headache in colds, rheumatic arthralgia, tetanus to alleviate rheumatic condition, and to relieve spasm or back pain. Used for headache, muscle, or joint pain; itching skin rashes; spasms. Fang means to guard against; Feng means wind; hence this is an herb that protects the body from the ill effects of wind, chief among the six adverse climatic influences. |
