| Periwinkle, an excellent astringent, maybe used internally or externally. Sometimes used in the treatment of excessive menstrual flow or in the urinary system. May be used in digestive problems such as colitis or diarrhea where it will act to reduce the loss of fluid or blood while toning the membranes. It may also be used incases of nose bleed, bleeding gums, mouth ulcers orsore throats. For a tea pour a cup of boiling water onto a teaspoon of the dried herb and let steep for l0 minutes. Three times a day. Tincture: take l-2ml of the tincture three times a day in water. |
